Can science ultimately answer all questions?
Science cannot ultimately answer all questions. To begin with, the existence of God as a Supreme Being and existence of our world. If science had already qualified for this, we would already have an existing theory of everything to explain every different phenomenon in our world. Regarding answering all questions, certain things cannot necessarily be quantified, such as emotions, feelings, ideas, and a liking for something. When an individual is obsessed with a particular flavor such as vanilla, I don’t think science has a way of relating the taste of that given flavor over another. The previous individual experience in the flavor may make them drawn to it, and experience is not scientific.
Most times, we hardly make choices out of our own free will or knowledge but from what we have learned and observed in our society. Society tends to shape even our behavior towards certain things, such as engaging in activities such as plumbing could be highly influenced by certain individuals in society. Still, theories cannot entirely explain the behavior.
The choices we as individuals make, such as color choice science can’t explain that exhaustively since our perception of the meaning of various colors varies across different demographics and geographical spectrums.
If science were to answer all questions, ultimately, they would still be prone to some error as the answering is dependently on humans who are not perfect. Biases tend to sway even simple perceptions, even in the face of facts. Certain individuals will be drawn to their viewpoint to protect one’s ego.
The findings at times can be altered, or a simple error could lead or has led to misinformation. Hence making some theories to be proven unreliable or not applicable. The world today keeps evolving due to advancements in technology, some are discovered not through science but due to necessity. Such as locally available materials are at times used as substitutes for specific medicines, but the consumer does not entirely depend on science to prepare them but maybe be dependent on years of experience, exposure to the materials, and a skill learned through family lineage.
