International marketing is marketing activities undertaken in more than one country. It can also be referred to as global marketing.

Challenges faced in operating the international market

Marketing problem

It is difficult to design and modify marketing skills for the international market. Design production, supply, and pricing require more information and effort. Since the companies are far apart from each other, coming up with marketing strategies for their products in the international markets may be a bit hard. Hence will not come up with the best marketing strategies.

Administrative rules

An administrative rule in both countries may make international marketing harder. Both countries possess legal formalities, which may affect their marketing throughout the global market. Tariff barriers can also be related to this category, whereby the imposed taxes may be high. For example, global marketers should posses legal identification of several courtiers where they want to operate.

The shares

These companies situated in both of the nations might have a similar characteristic whereby one company may want to gain shares more than the other one.  Hence this will lead to disagreements and mistrust between companies, thus will not short case their goods to the international market. Huge losses will be recorded after a period of time.

Competition and competitiveness

The commodity produced by these two companies should be of high quality in order to maintain its competitive nature. For example, if the commodity produced by the two is perfume manufactured should be of high quality. This will make it in competition with other leading companies that produce a different kinds of perfumes. This may reduce its dominance.

The leadership from both companies can place the following strategies to overcome inconveniences that affect the proper running of the business:

  • Should set proper marketing plans e.g., employing skilled traders.
  • Should reduce tariff charges in their respective countries.
  • Both companies should come into terms about the ownership of business e.g., should share equally the profits made.
  • Always ensure the goods they are producing are of good quality.
