Communication in the workplace

Introduction

The transfer of information from one person who is sender to the receiver or one place to another, either orally or written form, is what is referred to as communication. Communication to be efficient requires at least one center, the recipient, and the massage. Communication is divided into four categories, which include; written communication, written, typed, or printed symbols like numbers and letters to convey a specific message. Verbal communication, which involves the use of language to transfer data or information from massager to receive through speaking or by use of sign language, and it is commonly used (Thompson 2017). Nonverbal communication is the use of body language, facial expressions, and gestures to convey information from the center to the receipt. It is helpful when trying to understand others’ feelings and thoughts. Finally, visual communication s termed as the act of using photographs, graphs, sketches, art, drawings charts to convey information from one person to another, and they used are often used alongside written and verbal communication as an aid during presentations this is because people have different learning styles. A worker in the company used verbal communication to spread ramous amongst themselves about the transfer of the office from the city to the west of England.

Formal, specific, and clear communication is essential in any prosperous organization. It should involve the correct channel starting from the source of information for a proper judge of etiquette. Since Brian got the information from an unauthorized source, he should not take any action before consulting the right person, so as not to be misguided by false information hence misguiding other workers in the organization. This leads to pore performance the whole organization which may interfere with the goals and the policy of the company.

Public speaking is one of the most effective ways to get your message across to a broad audience like a company or an organization since it makes everyone comfortable and creates a conducive environment in the workplace leading to the achievement of the set goals of the company (Sievert et al. 2017). Information from the authorized personnel ensures proper channels of the information flow hence reaching the target at the right time and in an appropriate manner, thus making precise changes if necessary, clear responsibility, and allocation of the duties in the company. Effective and clear communication should involve the direct transfer of information to the employee and the organization at large from the manager. It brings clear responsibility and what is expected to frem every member of the organization. The organization should have only one reliable source of information to ensure there is an order of information flow since when the data is from different places, it creates ruckus and chaos, bringing down the efficiency of the work (Brusila & Ramstedt 2019). Decision formulation is guided by the information received, the source of information should be reliable to come up with decisions and results which aims in achieving the goals of the company according to the policy of the company. Managers should control the spread of false information from untrusted personnel since it creates tension, and the employee can fill that they are left behind during the implementation of the organization’s policy.

Conclusion

Information should only be from one reliable source in an organization. It should be only from the manager of the company who has the mandated to give directives to the employees. This is to avoid misunderstanding among the workers, which may lead to inefficiency performance of the company hence not achieving the set goals and objective.
