Comparison Between Islam and Judaism
Judaism is one of the oldest religions dating back to the dates of Abraham. It has maintained its popularity, and some others, such as Islam have become as popular. The regions have some shared aspects and areas that they are total contrasts of each other. This paper compares Islam and Judaism taking into consideration the similarities and differences between the two.
The first difference is the places of worship. While Muslims worship in mosques, Judaism religion is practiced in a synagogue. Muslims also allow the use of images as representations of their God while in Judaism, it is not permitted since its termed as idolatry. The two religions share the belief in the prophets of God. In Islam, Muhamad is the Prophet who was sent by Allah to save the earth while in Judaism, the people believed in Abraham, Isaac, and the other patriarchs as the Prophets who were sent by God. They also believe in life after death but from different perspectives. Muslims believe in a heaven, but Judaism praises reincarnation. Marriage in Islam is strict, and the people have to marry women who are Islam. In Judaism, people are allowed to have several women as wives(polygamy). Both religions agree that God created the whole of the earth in his liking and image. He judges his creation according to the actions that it is involved in.
Finally, the Islamic religion is guided by Sharia laws. The law is taught to people from a young age so that the children may live up to them as part of their basic functionality. On the other hand, Judaism is guided by the ten commandments that were given to Moses and Halakhah ethics. They stipulate the expected code of behavior that the people should have.
