Congress works
The work of the congress is to pass legislations aimed to better the lives of citizens.
Before making any decision, any congressman should do proper research.
It is through this research analysis that he/she is able to establish the impact of the proposed legislation and the political impact of the same.
Each congress member is an elected official answerable to his/her constituents and as such they should always represent their constituent’s needs.
As the old saying goes, the first job of any elected official is to get elected while the second most important job is to get re-elected.
If an elected official makes decisions that lead to the passing of pieces of legislations that are not in line with the needs of the electorate chances of such a congressman being elected back to office are very minimal but, in an event an elected official fulfils the needs of the electorate, re-election is guaranteed.
