COVID-19 is a contagious disease caused by the coronavirus

Abstract

Problem: COVID-19 is a contagious disease caused by the coronavirus with symptoms such as dry cough, fever, and tiredness feeling and is spread through contact with an infected droplet generated through either coughing sneezing by an infected individual. Consequently, there are universal measures such as wearing face masks to prevent the spread of the novel virus, which are facing ethical and cultural hindrances from the full implementation (Liu & Zhang, 2020). Methodology: This paper extensively reviews literature resources to determine the effectiveness of face masks in fighting COVID-19, its economic, ethical, and cultural implications, and statistical facts relating to the use of masks. Besides, the paper also considers the limitations associated with the use of masks, both cultural, economic, and ethical. Results: Most of the countries that have succeeded in combating the spreading of the coronavirus profoundly uphold the culture of wearing masks, and they collaborate in adherence to the set standards (Greenhalgh et al., 2020; Liu & Zhang, 2020). Conclusion: The United States and European nations should be vigorous in adhering to the proposed precautious measures, such as wearing masks in the fight against the novel COVID-19. Wearing of masks not only protect themselves from contracting the virus, but also protect other people.
