It is a cold morning, and I have just woken up and decided to laze about outside my house. The morning sun is trying to penetrate its weak rays through the tall trees, a scene that appears to communicate something special to me; the current situation does not determine my next step. That the sun rays appear weak in the morning, but after some few hours, they become strong and scorching. Also, the silence that fills the air leaves a cool environment for a recap of the experiences of the previous night.

Part II

At the shopping mall, I met a tall doctor who was in a black suit. Although handsome could be a relative adjective, my opinion is that the doctor was handsome. At the time of meeting the doctor, he was talking to his beautiful wife, and they appeared to be arguing of something. The doctor’s child was crying, and the wife was less concerned with the state of the child. The doctor is talking loudly to his wife, and the child cries even more. When a passing man appears to intervene in a bid to solve the crisis between the doctor and his wife, the doctor shouts at the man, and the man eventually leaves the two to solve their problems. The doctor and his wife leave the mall immediately.

A tall teacher is dressed in a black suit and appears disturbed. The teacher appears to have come to the mall to buy some books since he is walking slowly towards the bookshop. Upon greeting the teacher, I get to realize that he is my child’s teacher, and I decide to ask whether everything is okay with him. The teacher explains that he needs some books that he needs for his lessons for the day and that he is already late. Inside the bookshop, the teacher appears to be looking for the books hurriedly and appears to be giving the shop attendant some hard time. Finally, the teacher finds his intended books and walks out of the mall without saying goodbye, and he still looks disturbed.

The other man I meet in the mall is a librarian who came from my child’s former school. The librarian was in his usual library coat, and I was sure that the librarian had just taken some break from his usual work. The librarian has come to the mall to peak some snacks, maybe for his breakfast, or a friend. The librarian is walking fast towards the fast food hotel when I see him. From the appearance of his face, the librarian is happy and even offers to buy a cookie for me. However, the librarian appears to be in a hurry and walks out immediately after acquiring his snacks. I bid the librarian a goodbye as he proceeds to his car.

Physical setting

First Account

The choice of physical setting is always crucial in the kind of mood that an individual needs. However, various circumstances do not allow individuals always to choose a setting that gives calmness or relaxation. Yesterday I was alone in my room alone. The decision to remain in my room was not deliberate, but the coldness and the rain outside left me without any other option. The loneliness that comes with being in a room alone brings out an environment that leads one into falling into deep thoughts, and depression could be a result. Daydreaming is always a common outcome when an individual chooses to remain in a lonely place. The thoughts that had been suppressed by the joy of meeting other people come out when an individual is alone. Depression always affects people who like spending time alone. I have decided to change my choice of physical setting and will be staying with people after yesterday’s experience.

Second Account

Circumstances always lead people into being in physical settings that would not be chosen under normal circumstances. For example, an individual who is going through a period of distress should not spend time in an empty room alone. After the release of my end year exam results, I have had a difficult time getting over the disappointment of the marks I scored. However, yesterday was the climax of my depression with feelings of pain and rejection taking over me due to the state that I found myself. I had gone to my bedroom when it started raining heavily. The worst decision I made was to decide to take a nap on my bed as I wait for the rains to stop. However, the sleep was not to come, and eventually, I was carried by thoughts of depression and pain. I was crying uncontrollably and did not notice the rain stopping. I only recovered when my sister entered my room without knocking and found me crying. I had to explain what was disturbing me, and I have never felt so low before. Generally, the choice of a physical setting is crucial for every individual.
