Criminal justice policy
Criminal justice policy is used in a variety of ways in the justice system; for instance, they are used to guide criminal justice officials in their discretion. Criminal justice administration refers to activities such as detention, prosecution, pre-trial, correctional supervision or rehabilitation of accused persons and their recovery. I want to pursue bachelors in Criminal justice policy and administration, and there are goals I want to achieve career-wise and also in my academic journey. There are several reasons why I am passionate to pursue the course, and in this paper, I will give an outline.
With a degree in criminal justice policy administration, it offers a variety of career paths that one can specialize in, and this gives room for an individual to venture in a career that best suits their personality. For me I am passionate about keeping the streets safe for the good of the community and therefore in my career specialization, I want to become one of the most exceptional crime analyst officers after I finish school. The course still gives me the flexibility to shift to other specialities covered within the coursework, and this is an added advantage that comes with a degree in criminal justice policy and administration.
The career will fulfil my lifetime dream to fruition because I will have the chance to help people by bringing bad guys to face prosecution so that justice is served to people. A career in criminal justice and policy administration is attached to honour and integrity. Therefore, more than making money out of my career I want to impact future generations by the good I do to the society in my career by protecting the people and helping in solving essential cases in the community.
The course encompasses a variety of disciplines such as sociology, psychology, literature statistics and political science and I am more than pleased to dive into a world of range to get skills from all round to enable me to become better in my career as a crime analyst in the future. I also want to pursue my education in the field further and take on a masters in criminal justice to serve better in my profession.
I am an excellent oral and written communicator, and I feel like this will make it easy for me to practice in the criminal justice policy and administration. In this field, communication is a vital skill because it involves interaction with people, so one must be able to express themselves clearly so that there is an ease in exchanging information when taking reports from clients. Also, efficient communication will help to see that clear reports that can be understood by other people who work in the criminal justice system are taken so that justice is served. Writing communication skills are paramount also as a means of communication, and I am great at report writing, proposal preparation and even at making policy papers. My communication skills, therefore, will be sharpened through my course, and they will come in handy in ensuring I practice my duties efficiently when I embark on service delivery.
Statistics play a critical role in criminal justice. I have necessary statistic skills such as data analysis, data organization and data collection. With these skills, they will help a great deal in handling criminology data to help me understand criminal activity patterns and motives so that I can give recommendations to assist in making policies to help in justice administration. The course will help sharpen and better my statistical skills, and this will make me better in handling criminology data.
Therefore, admission to pursuing criminal justice policy and administration degree will mean a lot to help my passion for assisting others to come true. Also, I will get to utilize my communication and statistic skills for the good of making society a better place for all of us to reside.
