Desiree Engel
Desiree Engel is famously known for her outstanding exhibitions in the major galleries of southern California. She was introduced to the world of art as a child by one of the well-known artists in her hometown. Consequently, she successfully enrolled at California State University, where she successfully achieved B.A, M.A, and M.F. Degrees. Desiree has since then exhibited broadly in several major galleries of south California. She has earned numerous awards for her excellence and effectiveness in art. Engel’s impact is widely felt in printmaking media, ceramic, installations as well as sculpture. Her art has made so much impact such that she has a representation by 57 underground, which is a significant contemporary art gallery in California. The reason for selecting this artist is because her art is full of inspiration. Engel’s art explores realism as well as imagination. The majority of her art is based on the perception of the natural world. This is the reason why I selected Desiree Engel.

Her work has a basis of shape and colors which are encountered in nature. It makes an exploration of the metamorphosis into objects’ realism as well as pure imagination.

Engel presents food as nourishment of the body as well as nurturing the soul. She emphasizes that beauty is present in common objects and is found where it is least expected.
