Eastern state was opened many years ago, the opening of the eastern state changed the whole world at large. It had outstanding architecture and also had a very strict castigation. It was termed as the first real prison in the world. The prison was designed so that it inspired atonement in the prisoners’ hearts (Bell 2019). The build was built uniquely and was installed with running water and central heat. In Rome, they exercised capital punishment on criminals with the Roman Empire’s discipline unadorned and mostly being terminal. The correction system of Hammurabi, Mosaic Law, and Roman law affected all other systems.

The police made more arrests, and most citizens were locked up in jails and prisons. Most of the areas of confinement were seen as cages. The laws treated prisoners as slaves, and also, they were treated as if they never existed in the society. The development and use of prions changed the criminal’s behavior (Bell 2019). They were considered as the best mode of correcting unwanted behavior in society. There existed dark times in the United States of America and people who neither knew how to read and write. The illiterate people had faith in the religious people who were more educated than them—the prisoners in United States of America cells. The prisoners were trained in a variety of religions (Bell 2019). Christianity educated prisoners on the importance of accepting being born again in Christ. It was used to make the prisoners turn away from their sinful nature and start doing good to society. The Christianity programs were offered to the inmates and also staff, which included meditation and prayer.
