Disparities in the healthcare

The healthcare in the state of California is associated with various disparities in their healthcare. This aspect is related to multiple issues which make the individuals fail to seek medical care in the hospitals. Since the state is associated with various minority groups, multicultural perspectives play the most significant role in the development of health care disparities.   Due to this reason, the people of colour are associated with high mortality rates, increased infections and a vast spectrum of illnesses due to their reluctance in seeking medical care.

Social, economic status is one of the aspects that make people of colour not to seek medical care in hospitals (Ritter & Graham, 2016). This aspect is associated with elements such as low income, low levels of education, wealth and occupations. Since people of colour are people of the low social class, their level of socioeconomic status is generally low. In this case, the people of colour cannot get healthcare covers which can enable them to acquire quality health care leading to the development of disparities in the number of people seeking medical attention.

Environmental factors are also considered to play a significant role in the development of health disparities (Ritter & Graham, 2016). This aspect is associated with the fact that people of colour tend to live in low-class environments where they are exposed to different environmental hazards which lead to the development of infection. Individuals from different racial backgrounds live at various Areas in the metropolitan. African Americans tend to live in the worst areas due to residential segregation, making them be most exposed to infections. This aspect leads to healthcare disparities.

The lifestyle maintained by individuals from various racial backgrounds also plays a great in the development of healthcare disparities (Ritter & Graham, 2016). In this case, individuals from different ethnic groups are associated with different lifestyle. This situation makes them be exposed to different kinds of infection. The various races and ethnic differences are associated with the activities such as alcohol consumption, physical activities, substance use and the use of sunscreen. Such actions lead to the development of different health issues leading to the development of health disparities.

The situation of medical care in areas with people of colour also plays a significant role in the development of healthcare disparities. The lack of access to healthcare, availability of low medical care and the existence of limited healthcare provider from the same ethical background is considered to be the primary medical care factors leading to the development of healthcare disparities.

Reduction of healthcare disparities

Cross-cultural education is one of the most aspects which can help reduce healthcare disparities this aspect can be used to solve the problem of social, economic status (Ritter & Graham, 2016). This aspect is associated with the fact that education enables individuals to be in better positions, both economically and professionally. This situation will allow the educated individuals to earn money or become medical practitioners solving the problem of racial disparity in the health care system.

The people of colour are also encouraging healthy behaviours which risk their health (Ritter & Graham, 2016). This aspect is associated with the various things they consume. In this case, individuals should change their exposure to substance use. This situation is related to the fact that people of colour maintain poor lifestyles due to the beliefs they retain.  In this, the eating of healthy foods to prevent illness are considered to live a life full of health.

Development of language assistance services is also another interventional measure which can enhance the number of individuals from different ethnic backgrounds to seek medical attention (Ritter & Graham, 2016). This aspect is based on the fact that most hospitals lack medical providers from their racial background. Such services will enhance the communication within the healthcare facility and therefore, improving the quality of medical care provided to the people of colour.
