Disregard of human rights and democracy in America.
For so long has America enjoyed the aspect of the land of democracy, equality, and the rule of law. But recent transparencies threatens the hegemony US experiences. The disregard of black human rights through their federal structure was the biggest wake-up call for the entire nation. These actions caused a nationwide demonstration regarding how Floyd was killed by a law enforcer owing to his race. This single incidence is revealing the faults in their structure and disregard for equality.
The Black movement, which started from these actions and saw it garner support nationwide, questioned its citizens’ democracy and rights. Floyd cruelty killing by the police without being unarmed and unresisting arrest and gasping for his breath when on th ground, what does that imply towards the respect and adherence to the rule of law. The law stipulates that offenders who show no intention of violence or hold no objects that can be termed as a weapon should be arrested and prosecuted in court, not killed in the whole saga. These acts threatened the nation’s safety and, more so, the black people in regards to how their democracy and human rights are imposed on them, Shaking the whole government with a single action of display of cruelty against the black community and disregard of their life and well-being.
The same democracy that is nowadays increased in the US threatens its own people’s existence and thriving. Multimillion companies are gaining a lot of influence on the government and its organization, making them untenable. The fact that such companies receive minor consequences for their acts of evading tax and engaging in corruption owing to their influence question the democracy of the nation. The fact that America is regarded as one of the democratic nations is questioned when such key departments and organizations can influence the whole course of justice due to their input. This means there will be the existence of divided democracy and application where major companies get to experience limited influence and scrutinization by governments over the small corporations. This means that the whole system becomes vulnerable to corruption and is an indicator of their beginning towards the downfall. Therefore as wade and Chris predicts, this is a sign of the American hegemony’s end unless prompt action is taken. The democracy once enjoyed and practices overall companies and individuals are reinstated. Otherwise, the US reign as the leaders will soon be replaced by other nations.
