Diversity within the Latino Community
The Latino community has diverse groups within it. Although all the Latinos have Spanish as the common language, there is a difference in the dialect. For instance, the Puerto Rican Spanish is unique as it utilizes many Taino words and some aspects of the African dialect. There is also a significant difference in the music culture among Latinos. For instance, a genre such as Salsa is common among the Cubans and the Puerto Ricans. Bachata and Meringue are more common among the Dominicans. There is also a difference in the cuisines among the different Latino communities. An example is in the cuisines of the Mexicans, which is a mixture of Spanish and indigenous foods. The Puerto Ricans, on the other hand, have a more diverse cuisine incorporating American, Spanish, Taino, and African ingredients into their cuisine.
