Do you think Singapore politics is like British Politics?
Yes, I think Singapore’s politics is like British politics. Britain colonized Singapore, and this is the primary reason as to why Singapore’s politics are similar to Britain’s. During the colonial period, Britain used its political system to govern the country hence Singapore, inherited the hierarchical political structure. The only political aspect that Singapore differs from Britain is that Britain has a parliamentary democracy ruled under the monarchy framework. At the same time, Singapore is a democratic republic governed by the president. However, all other political aspects are similar. For instance, both countries have a prime minister who is in charge of the government. In addition to that, the Singapore government uses the Westminster system, which was modeled and is currently used by the British government. On the other hand, both countries have different forms of government, such as the judicial system and the legislative forming the three branches of government that abide by the Westminster system.
