Drug trafficking is a global banned trade that encompasses cultivating, processing, distributing, and selling materials that are subjected to drug ban regulations. However, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is regularly monitoring and exploring worldwide unlawful drug markets, aiming at attaining a more inclusive understanding of their dealers. This is because the global drug trading market is gradually developing, declining social and economic growth, and contributing to a rapid increase in criminal activities, political volatility, and insecurity. This paper proposes strategies that are a driving exploit against drug trafficking as an intercontinental systematized criminal activity. Almost every country in the world outlaws the acts of consuming, producing, and distributing drugs like cocaine and marijuana. Explicitly, in America, cocaine was banned in 1914, whereas marijuana was declared illicit in 1937. This ban led to the forming of a black market whereby producers of these drugs developed more effective means of manufacturing them without being detected by the government. The producers and suppliers are few, thus creating a monopolistic power to set high market prices for drugs (Ruhl & Mark, 2004, pp.137-151).
This makes illegal drug trafficking very profitable and thus attracts more criminals in different countries to facilitate intercontinental trade. The United States should continuously focus on international antidrug efforts to fight global drug trafficking, whereby their emphasis should be on preventing the distribution channels of drugs before they reach local dealers and consumers. This is essential in reducing or limiting the supply of drugs. However, the difficulty of reaching consumers leads to increasing the price of the drugs, and hence they become unaffordable for local consumers. Consequently, the consumption of these drugs will decrease.

Recommendation: Interdiction is a better diplomatic way of curbing drug trafficking. Additionally, funding and supporting international efforts against the drug trafficking business will help to eliminate international channels for trafficking drugs.

The primary objective of this policy is chiefly to exterminate drug trafficking in the United States. As mentioned above, this is attained through cutting the channel between then producers of the drugs and the local dealers. This subjected consumers or the local dealers to spend high capital to procure the drugs from producers. The augmented cost incurred in accessing drugs will initiate the local dealers to cease using them hence eradicating drug trafficking. There are various DIME-FIL methods; Diplomatic, Informational, Military, Economic, Financial, Intelligence, Law Enforcement, which will be used by the government to offer a clarification on how this policy will be used by the government to eliminate drug trafficking within the state.

Firstly, the government of the United States should use diplomatic methodology to curb drug trafficking from foreign countries. I suggest that the government follows international drug control policies and diplomatic efforts used by the Myanmar state. For instance, the Myanmar drug trafficking diplomacy comprises cooperating with other nations whereby law enforcement agencies from all the involved neighboring countries will cooperate and put efforts to completely stop supplies of illicit drugs into their country or transit to other nations. This will cut the networks used by drug dealers and producers to facilitate transnational drug trafficking. The lands which the United States needs to engage are Canada and Mexico, and middle east countries like China since the United States is a consumer of heroin produced in Mexico and the entire middle east. Increasing diplomatic efforts with those nations will help in cutting the supply of illicit drugs into the United States. Tools that may be used to enhance diplomacy to fight drugs in the United States include employing survey methodologies to estimate illegal cultivation crops so that they acquire information about the exact sources of illicit drugs. This will help in interdicting supply and further eradicate illicit drug cultivation by enforcing the law against those involved. Another essential technique is the estimation of the production techniques used to farm or plant various illicit crops. The information required in this case is the level of fertility of the soil in which the crops grow well and the expertise employed in farming. Organizing field studies to the illicit crop farms or plantations will enable the government personnel to inquire more about such information and thus estimate the overall productivity of the crops. This information will aid in ranging the number of illicit drugs produced in the country and identify other places where specific illicit plants thrive. However, the government will stand a chance to eradicate illegal fields of the crop in the country, and therefore, when the production of such drugs is cut off, consumption will also end (Rubin & Nora, 1998, pp. 257). Thirdly, processing estimates are a vital tool for gathering information about the source and quality of raw materials and chemical substances used the expertise technique of processing the drugs, and chemists and laboratories used to facilitate the process. This information will promote the engagement of law enforcement agencies in regulating the processing of illicit drugs since it is easy to hinder the completion of the processing chain.

There is a necessity of the government of the United States to use the military in minimizing drug trafficking. Involving the military in the fight against drug trafficking will inhibit dealers in the United States from importing drugs from the states as the military will quickly detect the drugs at the borders. Law enforcement is among the methods which the government of the United States can impose to eradicate drug trafficking within the state.  The military will primarily enact the laws. The military will readily identify and arrest the drug dealers hence taking them to the court of law whereby they are judged with using drugs illegally. This will help as it will aid in lessening drug dealers due to the fear of being arrested besides high fines, which are charged by the court of the law. To expedite the military to easily recognize the various drugs at the country borders as well as ascertaining and arresting local dealers within the state, there is the necessity of economic power or funding by the government. Funding military will aid in the incorporation of the new technology, which will help in a thorough scrutinization of goods from other countries hence identifying the drugs to restrict their entrance in the country.
