EDUCATION AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Education denotes the process of enhancing learning or acquisition of skills, knowledge, beliefs, habits, and values. The process of education composes multiple methods such as training, teaching, discussion, and storytelling, as well as directed research. Most of the nations and countries across the globe have made education a compulsory practice necessary to be undertaken by the citizens up to a particular age. It helps instill knowledge amongst the participants regarding the occurrence of various activities and events across the globe. Education facilitates self-awareness; it enables young people to develop fresh ideas with ease and be able to think Independently while making various decisions throughout their lives. This, in turn, acts as a basis for building an excellent future generation. The paper explores education and young people based on “Young People Reimagine Education for the 21st Century” film.

The film states that there is a need for the young to reimagine the vitality of education, particularly in the 21st century. Various benefits of education amongst young people are highlighted throughout the film. For instance, it claims that education means expanding the minds of young generations, solving the problems, encouraging creativity, and contributing as team members and leaders. The emergence of new technology such as robotics, artificial intelligence, and the industrial revolution calls for young people to be well equipped with agility and adaptation skills, which can only be learned through education. To develop an open-minded generation, there needs to be a reorientation of the education system right from childhood up to the tertiary level. The education system needs to concentrate more on flexibility compared to the specialization https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6ZfXmSBikY.

Government legislature plays a vital role in enhancing the smooth running of various activities in the school. The legislation acts as the regulating parties regarding the core principles of education. Moreover, the government legislature helps regulate the various issues relating to education, such as teacher evaluation, charter schools, and, more importantly, the standards of learning required in the school. The existence of excellent learning standards plays a vital role in ensuring that students (young people) receive the best quality education that helps them acquire the best education skills to help them cope with the profoundly changing environment (such as technology). Government legislation is communicated to teachers and parents through meetings. They communicate the policies using easy-to-understand and unambiguous language that parents can easily understand (Lewis, Sarwar, Tyrie & Waters, 2017). A good understanding of the government, school, and teachers creates an excellent environment where students can conduct their studies smoothly. This, in turn, facilitates their performance.

Reimagining education means that young people should be introduced to new learning strategies and techniques to enable them to prosper in their various activities in society. They should be allowed to do more than learn to memorize figures and facts; they need to learn how to handle and solve multiple problems. Additionally, young people should be allowed to learn independently; this will, in turn, enable them to develop superior skills that will impact positively on their lives and society at large. There is a need to break down the barriers that exist between the real world and education. Young people should be exposed to an education system that gives them ample experience in real-world situations. This, in turn, will play a vital role in developing open-minded generation and bringing positive changes in society and the world at large. The existence of an effective education tends to have a significant benefit on young people. For instance, it aids in the development of the young generation, who can engage in critical thinking. More so, it enhances the development of the young generation capable of solving problems more efficiently, people who can make innovative decisions as well as risk-takers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6ZfXmSBikY.

In conclusion, an effective education system plays a significant role in the development of an open-minded generation. Open-mindedness geared by education among the young generation plays a vital role in enabling them to develop problem-solving skills, engage in creative thinking, and develop innovative ideas. Ability to solve problems and innovate new ideas helps increase the productivity and performance of the society and the entire world in large. Hence it is critical for the education system always to ensure that young people receive the most effective education that will enable them to turn the society into a better place in the future.
