- Emotional intelligence
- Emotional storytelling
- What do resilience researchers do and why case studies are important and what they reveal.
Emotions for a longer time have been used to express feelings and sentiments; however, modern researchers in psychology have been able to understand and deviate emotional expressions to elevate situational positions better.Samton, Parsa, and Austenfeld have carried extensive research to evaluate emotional resilience and have identified that it takes adaptive capacitation in that it allows individuals to better modify and adapt to the situation they are facing.
The case studies provide a strong foundation and basis for the study of the psychological field.
Emotional focused coping studies have proved dependable to help some of the individuals who are mentioned to cope and survive in the situation the individuals were encountering. The specialization in the field has enabled researchers to connect and relate to how human psychology can be manipulated to conform to a position.
- How have you been resilient?
A close relation to the undergraduate population case study, after dismally performing during one of the semesters. The circumstance position pulled me to have bigger ambition and to strain towards excelling academically,
- What could you personally work on after reading the chapter?
The more significant advantage of working on individual motivation will be to sufficiently deviate and identify an individual’s potential. A better realization of human psychology would be to conform better and adapt to a situation knowing that the mental capability will better handle any of the preceding conditions.

- In your own words, explain each way.
- A better way to release negative emotions would be to share and communicate our feelings with people that we can better relate to or individuals that can guide and help when facing a situation.
- Individuals retaining a positive and healthy attitude to negative situations knowing that we can adapt to the events.
- Getting enough rest, the human mind requires adequate rest to effectively reason; therefore, getting enough rest can help humans to better reason in adverse and demanding situations.
- Setting up new ambitions and targets. In adapting and conforming to life situations, individuals have to set better situational standards to improve individual life positions.
- Express emotion through ways you can better relate with, such as talents and games that can help do away with frustrations.
- Apply it to yourself and how well (or not) you do them and explain why with examples. Connecting Focus on one that you need to work on more. How might you do this?
- In connecting with the resilience video on a personal level while coping with an adverse situation, I would take time before opening up to people I feel close to; therefore, it would take long overcoming a situation.
- I would diverge my Focus from the trying situation and at least try and build my energy to attempt something different from what I was putting my Focus on. Such an approach would least help in elevating my situation.
- I would direct my frustration into something constructive rather than internalize my feelings, which can least help when handling a trying situation. Shifting and positively engaging in a productive situation would better assist when coping with adversity.
- After learning what resilience is and learning more about it, share a personal example of when you showed resilience. How did you feel? What were the effects? What are the long-term effects of it in your life?
- An event that I experienced while in my freshman year, I had the challenge of keeping up with my work out routine and still coping with my classwork. My grades were actually on a drop, and I was placed in a position to drop my practice. Usually, when placed in such a situation, one would have to weigh on the priority, but in this case, I put more effort and adapted to the faced circumstance. However draining the situation was it significantly improved my coping and functionality which efficiently boosted my handling capacity and time allocation,
