EMPLOYEE SELECTION PROCESS

The following are questions which I will ask

Why would you like to work in this organization? Value

Tell me about yourself? Personal information

There are many applicants for this job. Why do you think we should hire you? Competence

Where do you see yourself in the next three years?   Career path

What are your major strengths?      Competence

What is your salary expectation?   Salary

Question two

Based on the requirements of the job, I will make use of the following job selection test criteria because I believe they are going to help me get the best candidates for the position.

Job knowledge tests

The main reason for using this test is to be able to measure whether the applicants have the theoretical or technical expertise, which is required for the job. The second test which I will utilize is cognitive ability test, the main reason for using this test is to be able to establish whether the mental capacity of the candidate is strongly correlated with the job performance. This type of test is accurate, and hence I cannot avoid it. The other two tests which I will utilize are; skill assessment tests and personality tests. The above-mentioned tests will help me select the best candidates for the job.

Question three

There are numerous concerns that someone should be aware of as he or she conducts a background check on potential employees. The first concern is false credentials; trusting employees is important, but verification of credentials is essential when considering a recent report from CareerBuilder. False credential could affect job performance. Thus, it’s a major concern when conducting a background check for employees. The second concern, which is also essential when conducting a background check for employees, is negligent hiring. It is all about the liability of the employer for any incident caused by an employee when the employer was aware that the employee posed a risk. The third major concern when checking employee background is incorrect reports, sometimes the reports provided by employees may contain errors, and hence it is good to be keen when reviewing the reports.

Question four

Several legal concerns should be put into consideration during the interviewing, selection, and testing process. They comprise of; job posting, pre-employment assessments, interview, checking references, final offer, and other legal mechanisms that are in place.
