Questions to ask your co-worker who brings a union letter to sign and the results from this time onwards

Will I receive better benefits by joining the union? You will be asking this question to decide your take of joining the union or not (Akabas & Kurzman, 2015). The union supporter will then mention to you all the benefits that the association offers to employees as a way of convincing you to join the union. The union supporter does not reveal information regarding the benefits in existence since they will be in use during their campaigns.

The second question is regarding the promises made by the union is you have once heard of it. The union supporter will tell you that those promises will be in fulfilment once the association takes the lead. The third question will be whether the union will ensure members have security in their job. Regarding this question, the only company provides its members to have safety in their career and not in the association (Mauer, 2011).  The fourth question is, what occurs in case of a strike. The association, my co-worker, is campaigning for may force employees to strike in case of mistreatments in the company. My co-worker will be responsible for telling you that the union is supposed to do in case of the strike.

What happens?

After asking my co-worker the above questions and then giving me the answers, the decision lies on me. I’m in a position of choosing to side with the union or my company (Hannigan, 2018). I decide remaining in the company without joining a union since the union will not safeguard my job in case of a strike. My work is an important thing I have to protect because it helps me earn a living and cater to my needs.
