English culture

English culture is summarized as the social group patterns involving behaviors, beliefs, values, customs, and way of life of the English people. The English have certain specific actions that define their way of life and are unique from other cultures. For instance, failure to pronounce consonants and omit some vowel sounds and their tendency to go to the pub for drinks. Therefore, English people have a unique feature that makes them distinctive from other people.

Drinking is part of the English people’s culture, and they usually enjoy this moment when they are in a pub. They find a pub as a place where one can discuss with a stranger and talk freely; furthermore, this is where one can relax and remove their stress (Fox, 36). In the movie of Educating Rita, we see Rita’s husband looking happy and singing with Rita’s entire family. Even though he is stress upon Rita’s behavior of taking pills to avoid pregnancy but at the bar, we could see him happy; furthermore, he welcomes Rita to join them in a happy mood and even giving her a peck. English people find it easy to express themselves at the pub since it is a place where you can share anything that you feel is bad or good. Pronunciation also makes the English people unique because they usually swallow or omit some consonants (Fox, 30). For example, in the movie “Educating Rita,” we could see Rita instead of pronouncing the word want and smoking. She pronounces it as wanna and Smokin, respectively; in the above example, we could see Rita swallowing and omitting consonants. There, English people are easy to identify because their culture is easy to know.
