Immigrants are a solution, not the problem.

Immigrants within the United States are more diverse than ever because many people are coming into the United States worldwide. The United States is home to immigrants seeking greener pastures in economic opportunities, those seeking political asylum, and others reuniting with their families. Many Native Americans welcomed immigrants’ move as they believed they were rich in scientific knowledge and provided diversity within the economy.

In the last few years, there have been increasing concerns regarding how the immigrants are benefiting the current economy. Do they bring more job skills and better changes to the existing skills among American citizens? The concerns have been ignited by the increased influx of immigrants costing the government heavily in terms of how best to cater to their needs without violating their fundamental rights. Other than that, many feel that the influx of immigrants into the country has resulted in social and cultural constraints regarding integrating them into society.

Major immigration issues tend to vary from one state to the other depending on their geographical locations. Also, demographics and politics play a significant role in understanding the severity of the issue. Early this year, Governor Greg Abbott announced that Texas’s state would not be accepting any immigrants being the first state in the United States to do so. This paper seeks to persuade and argue that immigrants in Texas are a solution to our existing problems. Locking immigrants out of Texas will result in an ailing economy. Currently, Texas is home to roughly 200,000 annually. These people have helped diversify Texas’s economy since the early 2000s by bringing various skills necessary for its growth.

The research question is: What advantages and benefits do immigrants bring to the Texas economy?
