Ethical Implications In Communication
Staying ethical in communication by the insurance company’s boss about the new changes in premiums and health care coverage means being mindful of the realities that the insurance company is facing that has enabled the changes to occur. Therefore companies should be aware of how they use communication in relaying information that will affect the customers. Many of the significant ethical issues in touch relate to how the company will communicate the information to the customers and how it will affect the customers or the company.
The boss’s draft on the insurance company concerning the plans to raise all the premiums and healthcare coverage in her communication has some ethical implications. The boss has drafted the message without considering whether she will offend the customers or not. This was not considered in her draft as to why the company wants to make the changes. She just discussed the medical advances the company would offer then went straight to the changes. Another ethical implication that has occurred is the withholding of crucial information, then presenting it at last. The draft could have started with the critical information about the changes then explains why the changes are taking place in the company to the customers. To have the proper communication without the customers being affected, I would first start with the crucial information about the changes then explain to them the reasons as to why the insurance company has decided on that. I would make sure that the customers are convinced through the communication to appreciate and recognize the plans of raise in medical and premium coverage and why that has taken place.
