Evolution and History of Fashion

 

Fashion is one of the most influential arts that advocate for social justice while pushing the importance of personal identity. Style leads to a pronounced influence on society. Although fashion has been there for generations, ancient gender roles were instrumental in the development of new apparel designs.

Feminist fashion experienced a post-war prosperity. Claire McCardell invented American sportswear using popular utilitarian fabrics, while Bonnie Cashin developed designs like boots that were not popular among women in the 1940s.[1] The [2]Case shows that the early twentieth century marked a period when fashion experienced a significant rise in popularity. The American style became popular in Europe. The era allowed women to influence style as most men were busy in the war. Therefore, the postwar period was crucial in promoting feminist fashion.

LGBTQ Fashion emerged in the eighteen century but influenced people in the twenty-first century. Fashion exhibitions have allowed people in the first century to appreciate the old fashions. The winning of the LGBTQ way of dressing is various shows that makes them relevant to people today. Current LGBTQs tend to enjoy the clothes of the ancient associated with their culture.

The ancient culture played a significant role in promoting feminine fashion.  The statement “His ideals had been similar to his predecessor, Queen Victoria, which were that women stayed at home by the hearth with their needles,” explains the factors that led to the development of feminine fashion.[3] In this case, women spent most of their time at home, glooming themselves to be attractive brides. Therefore, the gender roles that depicted women mothers and homemakers promoted fashion.

In summary, fashion has existed across generations. The ancient gender roles promoted the development of fashion designs. Women spent most of their time at home designing clothes, which helped feminine fashion.
