Extreme poverty and hunger.
Poverty goes beyond what families earn. It is unable to access quality basic needs. Poverty leads to hunger, short term physical discomfort due to food shortage, or in severe cases, life-threatening.
Children, disabled people, and unemployed lone parents are more likely to experience poverty and hunger. Almost all hungry people live in lower-middle-income countries, mostly in Africa and Asia, with an estimate of 11 million living undernourished in developed countries.
A cyclical relationship exists between poverty and hunger. Conflicts, unequal wealth distribution, environmental problems like drought, lack of resources, and hunger itself are the primary causes of poverty.
Overexploitation of natural resources has destroyed the environment. Job loss in depressed economies impacts people’s ability to afford food due to declined income. Political instabilities have led to conflicts leaving destitute. Children’s lives are negatively affected since most succumb to child labor, diseases due to malnutrition, and domestic violence.
Canada has come up with strategies for poverty reduction, including eliminating housing needs and reduction of chronic homelessness by 50%.
Food and agriculture organization (FAO)estimates that 793 million people suffered from chronic hunger in 2014-16. Developing programs that enhance access to food by the neediest, improving agricultural productivity should be the main focus.

Its headquarters based in the state of Oregon. The organization focused on mission services for emergencies in east Africa and east Asia.
