The former President Barrack Obama signed the 21st Century Cures Act that advocates for and funds the research accelerations to prevent and cure serious illnesses, and improve the development of drug and medical services. Additionally, the Axt attempts to address opioid abuse crisis’s and makes efforts to promote better mental health service care delivery. There are provisions in the Act, which advocate for improved support of human services programs, greater interoperability, and the use of electronic health records.
The impacts of the Act include improvements in the new methods of electronic health records and easy access to medical information that will benefit both patients and healthcare providers. The regulations remove barriers and ensure that patients access, use, and understand information on their health. Further, the Cures Act includes provisions for the betterment of Clinical Trials.gov, which is a database for public and private funded clinical studies that take place globally. The trials play a vital role in helping to observe and maintain transparency and accountability to the researchers’ public and sponsors and facilitates patients’ research for potential studies to learn about or enroll in for new treatment tests. The Cures Act has positive impacts on system implementation.
The Cures Act unleashes new ways to assist doctors and other medical professionals to interpret the information in ways that establish better outcomes, health care experiences, and low costs for patients. The mutual interpretation and understanding of medical information between patients and health care providers promote smooth and conducive interactions between both parties because there are clarity and apprehension. The transparency that the Act facilitates is also useful in ensuring that there is a good patient/doctor relationship, and it also promotes workflow due to the absence of unaddressed, incorrect, or missing data on the available information. Clinical care is more efficient with transparency, absence of errors, and healthy patient and care provider relationships.
There are organizational policies that need to be in place at health are organizations for th implementation of the Cures Act. The eligibility of the Innovations Account Funds can assist in providing direct services to patients, along with the provision of education to healthcare [roviders on methods of leveraging the abilities for the utilization of health information exchanges. Involving patients in drug development and reviews also facilitates the gathering of systematic information using the patient’s existing conditions to establish effective treatments.
