Why Economics? Talk about your favorite subject, your performance in the class, plans and where you see yourself after 5 years
From the subjects included in our school curriculum, most of us love one specific subject. We love to study the subject and also aspire to perform better and opt for higher studies with that subject. Since economics has been introduced in our curriculum, it has remained my favorite subject. As I started to study the subject, it instills an interest in me to know about its core and grasp better insight into the economic condition of our state. While studying, I slowly came to realize the devastating economic condition and the people living below poverty. The problem of deprivation of food and the necessities became clear to me.
While studying the subject, I came to know about the pathetic condition that is prevailing for years in many parts of our country. The poor condition remained unnoticed amidst the technological development and new inventions. With this, I came to research more on the subject and found out that it helps get a better framework for writing, analyzing and teaching the economic issues prevailing. Through the study of the subject, I came to know about the methods to be used to cope up with the complex nature of our environment. Also, I learnt about the economic values and the research work accomplished by some of the famous economists. In this list, the writings of Amartya Sen have worked as a great source of inspiration for my love of the subject.
Therefore, as I started to find more information knowing about the core of the subject, it helped me know how the societies are utilizing the scarce resources available for manufacturing valuable items and distributing the same among different people. But in this cycle, the manufacturers often fail to shed light on the degrading level of the resources available. It is high time one needs to understand that we are slowly approaching the doomsday when hardly any useful resources would be available.
So, these gave me enough reasons to pursue economics for my higher education. I have decided to pursue my graduation in economics and from the final year only, I want to become part of online courses that offer studies in economics. By engaging with some research work, it shall help me further to get admission in one of the best universities to pursue higher education in economics. After completing my studies, I wish to come back to India and want to become part of the economic system contributing significantly to its growth.
I have also studied that in the US, economic growth is driven by different factors which are often lagging in our country. Therefore, our country is unable to become among the top developed nations. In this race, the US and other advanced countries are able to maintain better economic growth in their country.
Famous Economist Abhijit Banerjee has warned the country about the chances of note ban and its trouble. Moreover, the theatrical work by Amartya Sen helped to know about inequality between men and women and the growing rate of infant mortality rate in our country.
The economic growth in our country is also related to a better level of education. So, five years from now, with my foreign degree from top UK universities, I will teach students about the importance of understanding economic growth in our country. If luck favors, I also want to join as part of the financial affairs in our country and help in develop soon to come at par with other developed nations. I wish to work as an economic adviser with the best use of my knowledge that I have gained from the university abroad. Though I may not be able to construct the same framework and system of work in India, I would try to incorporate similar principals that can contribute to the steady growth of our economic conditions.
