Fear of Missing Out
Fear of Missing Out is a social feeling of anxiety mainly on young adults associated with concerns of missing out on interesting events often aroused by posts on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. Showing up at events uninvited as well as addiction to constant social media availability are some of the common indicators of one suffering from FOMO. These indicators are characterized by the desire of persistently envying and keeping up with what others are doing mainly due to self-doubt.
In the social media use survey that was carried out, my FOMO score was 22. In actual fact, this was an ideal score to describe my FOMO being that I am a great fan of the social media platforms though not an addict. I find myself to be glued on Facebook more than the other social media platforms mainly to keep up with my friends and family members more than the other social media platforms. In most scenarios, idling from this always gives me that feeling of missing out on a lot of trending posts. On the other hand, am also an occasional fan of YouTube. at times I find myself seeking impressions relating vlogs on some of the decisions I make such as ending a relationship.
