Federally Mandate Paid and Family Leave
A federally mandated family leave is a law that provides employees with paid leave opportunities. The United States lacks a comprehensive family policy for helping working families to maintain their work-life balance. There are no paid leave times offered to employees by employers in the US, of which there should be. Workplace benefits are essential parts that help in balancing, family, work, and medical needs (Rossin-Slater & Uniat, 2019). Employees respond positively to their jobs through motivation from paid family leaves and sick leaves; therefore, the policy should be introduced in all organizations in the US. The introduction of paid family leave for a long time contributes to mental health benefits in the period it is offered. The economic outcome of a country is profoundly affected by an employee’s health in their jobs.
According to Rossin-Slater & Uniat, parents who must choose between their livelihoods and being physically available for their children experience a lot of challenges when not entitled to any Paid family and medical leave (2019). Efforts should begin to gain momentum to enact a national federally mandate paid family and medical leave policy that will favor all the employees in all US organizations. Parents who have children who require more parental care and breastfeeding should be the most considered personnel focused on the Federal Employee Paid Leave Act. Employees who are waiting for the placement of a child should also be found in the act. Through this maternal stress during pregnancy that affects the infant, and the well-being of a child is reduced.
According to the discussion forum that we held, my opinion on family and sick leave should be available to all members working in an organization in the US. Some rules should be set concerning federal-mandate paid family and sick leave that should be followed for one to be qualified. For instance, the government should consider how long an employee should take paid leave. They should be keen on the employee that qualifies for leave and whether he or she has been contributing any amounts to the organizations. The US government should specify the amount allocated to the family, and the sick leave benefit of every employee (Rossin-Slater & Uniat, 2019). There should be specific reasons as to why a person is entitled to any leave.
Every employer who works in an organization that entitles workers for any leave should know their responsibilities and work towards them. They should be familiar with the Federal Mandate Paid Family and Medical Leave policy that requires the employers to allow workers to have several weeks of paid leave. There are several circumstances that the employee should be entitled to paid leaves. Conditions like care needed to babies or care required to a spouse after birth is essential and healthy for all workers (Rossin-Slater & Uniat, 2019). Spouses with personal health conditions like injuries or illness prevent them from performing well in their organization; therefore, the government is forced to implement the policy to favor its employees for better performance and improvement of the economy.
Health insurance is too expensive and very complicated in the US compared to other countries whose health care systems provide all citizens with insurance coverage. The programs of free treatment are explicitly made for people with disabilities, the old, and the families that have got low-income earnings. There is always a need for health insurance, even though you might get extra bills that are hard to pay. One should get insurance plans with their employers or on their own to cover any medical bills that may occur. In the US, private health insurance by employers or one has to get one on your own (Burwell, 2015). Medical expenses are highly covered if there are plans with good quality covers, which depend on the type of benefit you chose.
The US health insurance system faces a lot of challenges that need to be changed. Many ways should be considered to invest funds that cater to the insurance of Americans who lack hospital insurance coverage. Higher costs to the poor health outcome should be addressed simultaneously to improve the quality and efficiency of care (Burwell, 2015). To avoid fragmentation of the health insurance systems, the workers or health care providers should be given payment support or the equipment need to work together and improve patients care effectively. Patients should be offered with the medically necessary care to reduce errors that contribute to inefficiency of care. Ethical accountability from patients and health workers to ensure that health care systems are effective.
