Female Potential Recognized In Real Estate Business.
The world keeps revolving, and thus new market players enter and exit the market. In a fully competitive market with new entrants and changes in technology and innovation, it is essential to keep up with the pace. With continual problems in the world, we need to provide solutions. For many decades, it has been our male counterparts who have been steering the wheel to the new development. The current changes are a wakeup call to women. We can as well complement our opposite gender and even come up with better products and solutions.
I am Sofia Castro, Co-founder of Queen Ventures, together with my husband, Robert. Immediately we got married, we decided to dive into the world of business. What we didn’t know is that it was full of uncertainty and with little experience in the industry; we ended up failing at the start. But this did not destroy our entrepreneurial spirit; I still believed I have a great purpose than what my current situation entailed. We went back to the drawing board. At first, we enrolled have a into regular jobs to keep afloat as we restructured our idea. The unfortunate event happened that triggered a life-altering moment in our lives and pushed us back to our destiny. I was expectant, and with little resources at our exposure and unending piling bills to pay, it was time for us to make a decisive decision. We evaluated the available opportunities keenly in the market and decided to purchase a leasing brokerage franchise, a tiny manual on how to build a leasing franchise. It cost us $1800, an investment which was from our parents. From the little investment, we have been able to build up a company worth $1 billion as of June 2019.
How did we manage to achieve our goals? It was never comfortable from the start. It is through sacrifice, patience, resilience and focuses that we are where we are. As a woman and a mother, balancing the roles both at home and at work wasn’t a joke. But as I stand before you today, I am happy at what I have achieved. Through my experience, I have gained many skills and knowledge, and I am delighted to share with my fellow women. I am a firm believer that we can measure to the task and even do better when equipped with the right mix of information and support. I would advise women as follows;
Move out of the comfort Zones.
A woman is and should never be secondary to our male counterparts; in the real sense, we have all it takes to achieve our dreams. All we need is to shed that skin of risk aversion, gain confidence and try as many times as we can. It’s through mistakes that we learn, and no human is perfect.
Mentorship.
Look for a mentor who is willing to walk with you through thick and thin. An expert who will advise you on ways of resolving bottlenecks as well as reducing risk where possible. A person who will hold your hands and walk you through the steps until you achieve stability.
Have a strategy and plan
You can be able to achieve your goals if you put keen focus and make sure you have taken note of each step of the way, analyzing any unforeseen contingency.
A plan is realized as the best if it passes through fire and grows strong. Arrange your finances well as well as stick to your budget and forecast. Never allow excuses when it comes to deliverables. I would strongly recommend a leadership kind of role rather than a managerial position. Be lenient to your staff and always work as a team.
