Death is one thing that will befall us all ultimately. Watching this documentary has walloped me and made me reflect on one’s last breath. Bidding goodbye to loved ones can be tough for anyone. The documentary presents a view of the dilemma that comes with loving souls bidding farewell. This impacts on all those involved who include the doctors, family and the patient themselves.
As an aspiring health officer, I wish to minimize the suffering of both the families as well as the patient’s as they are getting separated. I will achieve this by beginning an early therapy for both parties involved. It will help in preparing both the patient and the family mentally and thus reducing the pain of learning abruptly about a short living time for their loved ones. Being a medical practitioner means the well being of the patient is always my priority. It is, therefore, necessary for me to get the best possible means to extend the patient’s life, thus creating more family time for them. Ones this is done. I will also put first the patient’s priorities and make their final moments memorable for those they love and cherish. Keeping the patient informed on their progress is also a thing I will always do. Despite being a bold move for me, I will always ensure my patient has the information on their development rather than waiting and breaking the news to them suddenly.
Having a good life is always everyone’s goal. By applying the above measures, the patient will be in a position to enjoy their final moments. This, for me, will be a sign of a minor victory despite not achieving the main agenda of getting them healed.
