“Girls and Sex” by Peggy Orenstein
Peggy Orenstein writes the book on how girls should be handled when it comes to matters concerning sex. In chapters 4, 5, and 7, Peggy addresses many things on how the girls at the adolescent stage should be advised on the sex-related matters. The things which Peggy thinks that should be addressed in deep include the cute, virginity, hot, and sexy since they can affect the girls negatively to some extent. In short, the story of Peggy tackles the contradictory lessons which the girls are taught as long as sex is concerned, the ladies do not give their own pleasures priority, and how the sex matters generally affect the education to the young girls.
From the three chapters, we can clearly state that the media harms young girls. Some behaviors we see the young children doing copy them from the media. Another point discussed by the chapters is how it is important as the parents to talk to the young girls and understand what they pass through on the sext matters. In this case, the parents should be open to their children and advise them in the right way of living. Peggy also addresses how the idea of education as a way of helping young women grow up with a positive notion about sex and how it should be considered healthy. Peggy also explains how college life can affect the girls positively or negatively as long as the sex issues are concerned. Finally, Peggy introduces the issue of internet technology and how it has an impact on the girls about the issues of sex. From my point of view, I can say that sex education to young women is a very crucial thing, and the ideas brought about by Peggy should be practiced.
