Goodness vs Evil
Question 1
People who have high scores in extraversion have higher traits of sociability; they have optimism, vitality, they don’t have inhibitions and impulsiveness. Similarly, a person who is an introvert has higher tranquillity, they are passive; they happen to be less social and pessimistic. When it comes to personality theory, the vice differs, and the changes of the person help to have the difference in how they behave.
Neuroticism, according to Eysenck, understanding that is the highest degree of emotional stability that resides in a human body. Through this dimension, Eysenck describes the manner people are different from each other on how so are prone than others while some of the people have the anxiety of hysteria, depressions and others end up to be obsessed (Corr,2015). Eysenck defines neurotic persons as they are people who react in a more exaggerated manner frequently, and they find it difficult for them to return to a normal emotional activation level. Through this condition, some of the people are emotionally stable, calmness and they have high levels of reasoning towards their self-control phenomenon.
Psychoticism is termed as the third level of Eysenck’s theory, and it reflects the vulnerability that a person has to impulsiveness, being aggressive and a deficiency in empathy. This kind of people are said to be insensitive, high levels of violence, they are antisocial, and they are extravagant when it comes to resource usage (Eysenck, Barrett & Saklofske,2020). Eysenck says that when a person scores high in psychoticism, there are high chances of the patient to be exposed to mental disorders which will include psychosis.
Question 2
Bundy falls in extraversion since he was an introvert and he used to do things without associating with other people. This made Bundy to get associated with the addiction of pornography that was among the reasons that amplified the cause of killings that he was doing. Bundy falls at the end of neuroticism because he had emotional instabilities that were associated with alcohol that he was taking (Zuckerman & Glicksohn,2016). Once Bundy got annoyed, he would do anything that was close to him, which was tragic. For example, when he said addiction to alcohol made him kill some women, he had time with him. This situation turns out to be tragic for him. Additionally, he falls in the line of Psychoticism with the level of antisocial levels that he had exposed despite having a good family that had taught him morals and ways of associating with other people.
Question 3
Biology contributes to these traits through what he was feeding his minds, such as having an addiction to pornography and sexual violence that lead him to develop that habit of killing other people. Majorly, the behaviour of a person is inclined on what we feed the mind and what we love doing in most cases. Like in the case of Bundy, he was used in the making is mind on thinking of wrong things that were associated with serial killing, which made him be into it. The body stimuli are associated with the manner one will behave through the use of the traits that have been inclined in the body (Matz, Chan & Kosinski,2016). Eysenck’s theory has good elaboration of these behaviors and the manner they develop up in human beings, but he is not fully complete on his theory since he does not elaborate how the mind is associated with crimes and stimuli.
