Government actions to curb Covid 19
Part 1
Due to Covid 19, the government and citizens have taken some actions to curb the virus. Such actions are requesting of citizens to self-quarantine and social distancing. These actions are supported to support the citizen’s unalienable rights which include life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. When the government request citizens to wear masks everywhere, then it is protecting people’s right to life. This action serves as a precaution from spreading the coronavirus. Further, the government shutting down of business is supporting the right of life but limiting people’s freedom of liberty that’s where the government has passed an act of ending the shutdown in the middle of the pandemic which supports people’s freedom of liberty. In the case where citizens are protected against the government rule of shutdown since they are fighting for their right to liberty. Hence, every action that the government is taking to curb the spread of covid 19.
Part 2
Given the order of the unalienable rights, which are the rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. The act of the government requesting the citizen to quarantine and practice social distances makes since in fighting for the right of life since it protects one from conducting covid 19. Shutting down the business does not make sense since it denies people their right to the pursuit of happiness, which entails the pursuit of wealth and property. Instead of shutting down the business, the government should have recommended that business people take caution when carrying out their businesses. The citizens protesting against the requirement of wearing masks does not make sense since citizens feel that they have been denied their right to liberty. Still, in reality, this is a merit good which the government has imposed with the best interest of citizens at heart.
