Gun Control in India
Since the discovery of the gun, many countries across the world has embraced the use of the guns. However there is law policies that govern each country on the use of the guns.in India, gun control laws are already incredibly restrictive and have been there for more than a century. India has tightened its firearms regulations as the shooting in the united states rise, which make it even more difficult for a common citizen to own a gun.in the world, India already had some of the strictest gun laws existing, a vestige of a British colonial law whose aim was to disarm its subjects. Although is not a right enshrined in the constitution, India law allows its citizens to own and carry guns.IT can take years for one to acquire a gun license in india.
The government of the india has tried to restructure the arm rules in the last five decades which makes the law even tougher. Those who owns guns will have to show that they have undergone the training, therefore must carry their firearms inside the lockers only, securing them from a knock down condition in gun lockers at home(Annandale 26).IN addition to schools, the government will declare new gun-free zones across the country. The recent reaction is not due to reaction of the new guns restrictions. When minister narendra modi was erected in 2014,he quickened up the process which had taken five years. The rules will be presented in the parliament as they were put into effect last month.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity since is not authorized to talk to the media, an official in the ministry of home affairs said the charges are intended to bring in transparency in the arm regime, prevent, combact, and eradicate the illicit trade in small and light weapons and this will bring in the contemporary practices in the international laws. The charges have riled the nascent National Association for Guns Rights India.Rai said that they have discussed with the government steps to remove the harassment that law-a binding citizen face in acquiring firearm license in the last few years. The people will end up getting illegal guns as they have created a situation where people will become desparate.an official who issues or denied to give a gun incense will have to write down the reasons from now on. There are three categories that the guns are issued. This includes: self-defense, sports and crop protection. Recently, india shifted from the century-old manual record- keeping and put about 2.6 million people who owns the gun license on the national database information(Ha 281) .they have introduced digital method of keeping records.
The usage of guns has been utilized by many countries to serve a different purpose the years over .The government for instance can use guns to protect the country from the enemy, maintain law and order and also protection of the properties for its citizen.however, guns are one of the most dangerous weapons to hundle.it can cause serious injuries or even killed. This has made the india to come up with a policy that control the usage of a gun. Those who own guns in india according to the law are required to undergo the training for example they carry their guns inside the lockers, securing them from knock down condition. This proof they have been trained. They have put up charges for those who conduct illicit trade for weapons making the arm regime transparent.however, they have protected those who own the gun legally and by this means licensed guns.it is good to own a gun legally but it should be handled with a special care.
