Conclusion
In conclusion, the main problem faced by the salons is the difficulty they experience when arranging for appointments for their customers. Customers face a hard time booking the hotels, especially those offering quality services. From the results, the quality of services is a very crucial factor when selecting the salons. This implies that salons offering high-quality services are likely to experience the influence of customers. All women are likely to require salon services at least once a month for a certain amount of time. The month and the time taken vary from woman to woman. Salons offering high-quality services find it difficult to schedule these clients as the demand for their services is too high. To counter this issue, we decided to build an application for the salons. The application will help facilitate customers’ life and will be called “salons around me”.
It can also be concluded that although the results indicate to distance being a non-issue among customers selecting salons, this may not be the case. The results may be due to the system used to rate salons. Salons are rated overall according to their services. However some hotels have services that they have more focus on offering. Taking the example of salons offering massage services, not all hotels offer this service but some almost specialize in it.
Recommendation
Most people feel anxious when making decisions on salons. The anxiousness is brought about by fear of receiving poor quality services and the consequences that follow. This is a personal recommendation that will help reduce the difficulty in making appointments. The recommendation will also help boost confidence in-salon experience.
The application should have an option to rate the services of different hotels. The main attraction of customers to salons is the quality of services offered. Allowing the users of the application to rate the services of the salons will allow the application to rate hotels. Hotels will the highest number of reviews and positive remarks can be graded as the best salons. These salons are likely to have the highest number of customers and scheduling might be a challenging task. The app should provide a menu on services offered at different salons. Some salons also specialize in only one service while neglecting others. This implies that the hotel may be rated lowly but one service stands out. The app should be in such a way that it not only rates the salons but also the services offered.
Proximity to the salons should also be a factor during the development of the application. Previous studies and the analysis indicate distance may not be a factor when selecting the hotels. However, this could be a bias brought about by better marketing by bigger salons which may not be in close proximity. There exist salons in the vicinity which have better services but their brand is smaller and less known. High ratings for these hotels would mean that customers would not have to travel long distances to access quality services. This is also supported by the rating of services offered at different salons. Customers can now visit different salons for different services according to how the service is rated ie. dependence on the services of bigger salons since they offer the best all-round services is broken.
Scheduling of customers for services at salons should be done on a first-come-first-served basis. The scheduling should allow customers to book for services up to a month before the due date depending on the traffic that the salon is receiving. The capacity of the salons should also be determined before setting up the application. Some salons can handle higher traffic of customers than others. The ability to handle traffic, therefore, varies from salon to salon. The app should be in such a way that there is no overbooking or overlapping set appointments in time.
