Health Services Information Systems Responses
POST 1 TINECHA BANKS
An Electric Document Management System (EDMS) is a group of technologies which by working together to offer a collective solution for handling the creation, indexing, retrieval, capture, disposition and storage of the information assets and records of an organization. For a hospital, the EDMS is essential as exposure of patient information to the wrong hands can lead to the healthcare providers to be in trouble. The EDMS makes it easy to store and retrieve the patient records when need arises faster and therefore reduces queuing in the hospitals (Randell, Cornet, & McCowan, 2017). The use of EDSM also helps to reduce the cost incurred during storage and retrieval of information since all the information is clearly labeled thus easily accessed. Cerner would be a form of EDMS as it is an electronic medical record. Cerner provides room for healthcare providers to capture access and store patient health information electronically in both ambulatory and acute care settings.
POST 2 DAWN MICKENS
The technology has been the way everything has been shifted towards due to COVID 19 throughout the world. The Web MD and WebEx have been of much help in the medical field as people’s movement from one place to another is discouraged to reduce transmission. The country is facing the danger of increased mental illnesses. One of the primary methods used to reduce mental illnesses is social interactions, which are cut, making many people likely to suffer from mental illnesses (Aouizerate & Haffen, 2019). Due to the pandemic, many people have lost their loved ones, jobs, and sources of income as everything has slowed down, which is a major of stress. Web MD and WebEx thus provide platforms for people to meet the doctors virtually.
