HIPPA rules and standards

HIPPA privacy rule
The main concern about this rule is to protect and make private every health information (“Summary of the HIPAA Privacy Rule,” 2020). It means that no information should be utilized without consent or authorization from the respective patients.
HIPPA security rule
With the emergence of technology, security is of the essence. As a result, this rule looks into the safety of electronic medical records of different patients. It addresses the various technical parts of security, such as physical or administrative.
HIPPA transaction and code set rules
Since communication is critical, this aspect deals with the different transaction standards which dictate the type of communication utilized in healthcare.

Just like the name indicates, it gives the healthcare 60 days to respond and address to its patients of any breach through the media (“Summary of the HIPAA Privacy Rule,” 2020). It ensures that they are highly involved with how their information is stored.

It is a derivative of the HITECH Act, enumerating the different underpinnings surrounding the above set rules.
