In 1947 a group of American engineers who worked for the Bell laboratories invented modern transistors, which have been greatly used all through the twentieth century. A transistor is a miniaturized switch that has the ability to turn electric current on and off. By the year 1954, the transistor technology had advanced enough to be applied in commercial products, and it was significantly involved in the portable radios. The radios were small and very durable to be used in all locations where an individual wanted to go, and this aroused a technological revolution that expanded to all sectors in the coming decades. By 1960, transistor technology had lead t the development of integrated circuits, which are currently known as microchips, making transistors smaller, more powerful, and more durable (Moskowitz, 2016). By 1970 different companies produced more powerful microchips which allowed which had a wide range of use from cell phones, computers, television, and cars; which; without them, the current electronic devices would not exist. The technological advancement of transistors has allowed me to use or have access to these current technologies, which greatly assists in my daily life. Devices such as cell phones and computers have greatly assisted in communication and proper planning of our daily lives through the use of reminders and personal timetables (Lally, 2020). On the other hand, devices such as television have proved to be very beneficial when it comes to obtains current events that have taken place around the world through daily news services.
In 1971 Intel manufactured the first computer chip, which contained all the features of a central processing unit known as 4004. The 4004 had 2300 transistors, which are the basic on and off switches in computing, and only had the ability to do simple arithmetic. In a timeframe of three years, the computing speed had advanced enough to enable the manufacturing of the first personal computer. By the 1980s, Intel chips had advanced to the ability to offer performance that attracted attention outside the computer industry of personal computers (PC), and by the mid-1990s, personal computers had become essential appliances for businesses and home use. Currently, the chip microprocessor has become popular outside the personal computer application to coffeemakers, car engines, cell phones, and traffic lights. The chip microprocessor has introduced advanced computers in the current business work with the ability to process and analyze massive amounts of information that are produced in the daily workplace. With these computers, they can now write and edit their work more quickly with the help of programs such as word processing programs offered by computers. The computers have also led to improved communication in both the workplace as well as when offering services to a customer (Dubey, 2020).
