HIT Expert Advice
As you’ve researched HIT trends, where the opportunities are, who’s hiring in Phoenix, what kind of employees they want, etc., you’ve hopefully also been thinking of a number of questions you’d like answered! Especially if you now have some idea of the types of jobs you’d like to pursue, and have read about them on O*Net (https://www.onetonline.org/ (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.) or another resource, it is time to explore these opportunities deeper – and get some HIT professional advice! That is exactly what this project is about – and there are 2 phases of the project. Phase #1: First, see what kind of advice these professionals have already shared on the Internet. You can search Google for articles, blogs, and podcasts. Need help? Please see our GCC librarians! There are all kinds of gems out there. One expert told me that even the professionals are always learning – and learn from each other through professional blogs. You should know where those blogs are located so you can become part of the network! (It could take years for these resources to reach books and courses). Google and YouTube can also help you track down some video interviews. Professional organizations like HIMSS may also help, since these organizations exist for that purpose (professional development and connections). The world is yours – you may find a place or person who you can email your own questions to. Did these resources answer your questions – or prompt more new questions? In this part I don′t have anyone being interview, so I leaved up to you I would prefer the company and the person from Phoenix AZ. Phase #2: After you’ve done the background work (Phase #1), it is time to try a few live interviews. Are you curious about any particular companies in Phoenix – and the most current advice of their experts? Try to find someone in that company who can direct you to the right people. If you have unanswered questions, this should help you get answers! These interviews can be over the phone or in person. Many professionals are happy to make time for you and share some advice, especially if they know you are just seeking information. And they may be able to also refer you to other knowledgeable people, if you ask. “Network” and learn all you can! Finally, please write a report with what you learned (with citations of your sources). And please include some analysis – what worked, what did not work, etc. Was it reliable information – and why or why not? Did this project help you? What questions went unanswered?
