How Niranjan Shah Shows support For the Less Fortunate in the Society Through LIFT Foundation
Globetrotters Engineering Corporation was established by Niranjan Shah, a renowned entrepreneur, businessperson, and philanthropist. Globetrotters is a Niranjan Shah Chicago based company founded primarily to offer high standard services in engineering, architecture, engineering consultation, and construction management. Niranjan Shah is an Indian origin citizen who came from a humble background. However, to him, the background would never define his future. Regardless of lacking electricity, water, and learning through harsh climates, Shah managed to make it to where he is currently. He was supported through his education by a group of the supportive Indian community. Shah pursued his degree in engineering from Birla Engineering College.
Having acquired his Master’s in Civil Engineering from the University of Mississippi, Niranjan Shah relocated to Chicago and decided to establish the engineering corporation in1974. With its headquarters in Chicago, Globetrotters has grown from grass to grace, and currently, it has over 200 employees specializing in different career fields. Mr. Shah has managed to exercise high leadership skills while in the company, thanks to the management course he pursued at Harvard University School of Business. The engineering firm has managed to accomplish several projects, locally and internationally. They include the Deep Tunnel Projects, Redevelopment of Midway International Airport, McCormick Place Expansion, O’Hare Airport’s International Terminal 5, and many more. Globetrotters has managed to produce the highest standard increasing the firm’s awareness locally and internationally.
Besides being the founder and chairman at Globetrotters, Shah also believes in giving back to the community. He has managed to help several people from marginalized communities, the orphans, and those from poor backgrounds. Many Indian origin youths have managed to get quality education, pursue their courses, and come back to be very helpful to society. Niranjan Shah exercised his philanthropic works through organizations like the Sisters Cities International, Leading India’s Future Today (LIFT), and The Shah Center at McHenry County College. India and the United States highly acknowledge Shah for his significant participation in uplifting the less fortunate lives in the tow countries. He has won several awards, among them being the 2006 Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award.
Mr. Shah has served in LIFT Foundation as a board member. LIFT is a non-profitable charitable organization founded primarily to offer quality education, equip learners with valuable leadership skills, and transform youths who had lost hope in life. Father Jamel established this foundation to bring light to the lives of several Indians. This would help eradicate poverty, disease, and unemployment. As a board member, Niranjan Shah had a significant role to play in the LIFT Foundation. He assisted in financing the firm vital for the smooth running of the operations; he helped the company’s leaders bring ideas to life and helped increase the company’s awareness.
