How to Effectively Manage People

Effective communication can lead to exceptional follow up (Image adapted from Resnick, 2019).

Ineffective management of clients has cost so many organizations, most of their reliable clients, especially in cases where the clients usually lack a sense of belonging amid best and quality products.

Walchli (2017) also supports the notion by insinuating that most businesses in the 21st century are mainly investing in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) since they are aware that good customer management acts as a competitive advantage.

Therefore, that calls for all organizations to come up with mechanisms that can boost their client management. Hence, the organizations can adopt mechanisms such as utilizing technology, follow-ups, communication skills, and client’s portal utilization..

Through technology utilization, organizations should ensure that they are active, especially in their social media platforms. That way will help engage their existing clients and, at times, gain potential clients.

That explains the client’s sense of belonging since whenever they ask questions, and they are answered, thereby creating reliability and validity image of the organization.

Also, technology utilization can involve incorporating digital technologies such as Chatbots, which helps to communicate with the clients instantly.

The only measure that should be taken is that the Chatbot should be fed with the appropriate information concerning the possible questions that the clients can ask.

Follow-ups are also essential, especially concerning deliveries or customer feedback. This can be done through contact tracing or sending follow up emails to the clients. Such measures act as a foundation that cements the client’s relationship with the individual organization.

All organizations should ensure that their employees are trained on how to communicate effectively with the clients. That helps in providing reliable information that gives insight to the clients of the available services and products.

Effective communication also helps the company build trust with their clients, especially when promising delivery of products, the opening and closing hours and days and in solving issues.

Client portal utilization also helps in managing the clients by developing portals that offer clients confidentiality without a third party intruding. In such an instance, the client is protected from cyberbullying and cyber-attacks.

With such considerations, the organizations are set to use their clients as part of their competitive advantage since when customer satisfaction is maintained, customer loyalty comes out automatically.

Therefore, the organizations should prioritize ensuring that their clients are served in an appropriate manner as a way of identifying themselves as part of the organization’s stakeholders before even they are introduced to quality services and products.

Effective Work-Life Balance

Work-Life Balance (Adapted from Rabbani, 2019)

In the 21st century, most people have a tendency to concentrate so much on their careers, forgetting that they have got a life to live on the other side.

Such instances have led to most business people to have a low key social life that has even extended to their workmates and families.

As well, due to their inability to balance their work and normal life, some have even contracted strange illnesses that are avoidable. Vyas and Shrivastava (2017), in their article, posit that those people that cannot manage their work-life balance tend to suffer both physically and psychologically.

Therefore, there is a need to ensure that employees are not bombarded with excessive work since when they will eventually become sick because the company, too, will be at a loss.

As well, the employees also have the mandate to express their feelings once to their employers instead of risking their lives through fear of speaking out.

Hence, there are several ways that can be incorporated into one’s life to ensure that work-life balance is achieved.

Setting priorities: One should ensure that they have well thought of and set priorities that will act as a guide to daily life. Apart from setting the priorities, it is a duty for an individual to ensure that they are not overlooked unless when it necessitates overlooking them.

Time Tracking: individuals need to track time to avoid monotonous activities. For instance, if an employee needs to leave work for home at 5 pm, they should stop at exactly that time.

That habit will help them to avoid adding more time in the office unless the work has some urgency.

Concentration: Individuals should ensure that once assigned a task, they should concentrate on it unless something deserving the attention comes up to disrupt it, like an emergency call or call from the office.

Through concentration, such a person will avoid an accumulation of workload that could have been avoided in the first place.

Private time: Private time should be respected, just like the office time. The essentiality of respecting private time is to ensure that one gets enough rest and family and friends interactions.

For instance, for a family individual, they will need to pay attention to their spouses and children to prevent family wrangles that exist when the family feels that they are not given enough time.

Hence, when one manages to work on effective work-life balance, they are assured that the rest of their life will flow smoothly with no major issues.

What is the Best Organization Culture to Adopt?

Effective Organizational Culture (Adapted from Droste Group 2020)

With the rise of many organizations, there is an essential consideration that organizations should incorporate, which is organizational culture.

The culture adopted by the organization has some connection with the company’s ability to survive in the competitive local and world markets.

When companies adopt, for instance, a top-down governing culture, most employees and subordinate staffs feel left out.  The major reason being they follow orders blindly without being given a chance to express their feelings or suggestions.

Bulygo (2020) postulates that good organizational culture is that which involves all stakeholders in all its activities and whose employees are happy working in it.

That means a good organization should always make their employees comfortable, especially by ensuring that they are active in all ways. Therefore, from their initial joining of the company, the organization should ensure that all its employees are qualified with no biasness.

Also, organizations should ensure that they offer the employees a peaceful working place to increase their productivity.

On that note, organizations should stop disregarding their employees since they are also part of the competitive advantage of the company. Hence, when ill-treated, their attitudes and behaviors will be translated into the customer’s welfare, which can be disastrous at some point.

Organizations should also ensure that it offers motivation to their employees to increase their working morale. That can be achieved by offering them offs, leaves, and, most importantly, organizational get together.

The get together usually helps the team members to know and learn about each other, and as a result, they end up respecting one another. Respect building is also important since all workers come from different and diverse cultures.

Apart from the organization, ensuring that all measures are put up, employees also have a role to play. That now brings it to a win-win strategy where they have to follow the company’s rules and regulations for effective operations.

For instance, if a company respects diversity, no employee should become bias to the other just because of the difference in their diverse cultures and beliefs. Therefore, such considerations make it effective for organizations to include the employees in their decision making.

Hence, a company that values all its stakeholders should ensure that all departments are harmonized and that no party feels left out. Also, such harmonization prevents time wastage, especially in solving cases that can be avoided through stakeholder’s harmonization.
