HR and the Aging workforce

In the United States, there exist five generations, which have to work coherently. There is some notable increase in the number of aging individuals have increased, which threatens the workforce. There is the need to come up with strategies, which will ensure that the critical experience needed in the operation and management of firms is not lost. Most people are approaching the sixty-five years, while others have already retired. This category is termed as the baby boomers. Among the strategies to be employed in the management of Human resource include positioning of the organizations as employers of choice and Valuing the aging workers, among other strategies (Henry, 2014).

Disrupt aging in the workplace

There is the need to prolong the working period as people are living more than they used to. Companies are employing new strategies in the employment policies, that is Diversity and Inclusion. D& I strategy in employment has led to the success of the organization as different ages are incorporated in the workforce (Trawinski et al., 2014). This is based on the experience and the skills that an individual possess. For instance, the aging may be associated with executive roles which need a lot of experience. There is a need to disrupt the aging policies.

Relationship between the two articles.

The articles are related as they provide different strategies to address the issues of an aging workforce, which holds a lot of experience. The remedies from the two sources revolve around the incorporation of all generations in the workforce through Diversity and Inclusion.
