Illuminate manuscripts
An illuminated manuscript is referred to as script with enhanced text with decorations using gold and silver in the borders, initials and so forth. The manuscript is composed of mainly Christian scriptures. These manuscripts were crafted to be valuable items and hence were costly, and those who were wealthy could afford them.

The book of kells is an illuminated script that contains four gospels of the new testament, together with some texts and tables. The book exceeds other gospel manuscripts in its complication and also extravagance. The book contains some traditional Christian iconography with decorations. Many of decorated elements are infused with Christian symbols to pass the significant themes. The book plays a more sacramental role. The book of Kells tries to depict images of how Christ was tempted and how he overcome the temptations. In an images MS 58, folio it shows Jesus who is on top of the box with angels above him. This image tries to show Christians that they will be tempted, but they should put trust in God as he will send his angels to deliver him. The main aim of this book was to teach Christianity to treasure Jesus life and also his messages and to obey him.

Illuminated scripts give us a picture of the customs of the middle ages in terms of their culture and religion. They symbolize spiritual worship and material culture. During this period, the manuscripts were created using gold, silver mineral paints, among others. Through the look of these images, we can tell about the culture of the people that made it.
