Information governance is critical in the information technology firms since it helps in making well-informed decisions to benefit the relevant bodies (Alreemy et al., 2016). Information governance is closely linked to record management which allows storing all the necessary information in the organization in a way that can be easily be retrieved. According to ISO, record management refers to the effective management of the given records which can be used in making critical decisions of the businesses. This involves all the activities that are conducted for the wellbeing of the companies.
Research has shown that the records are essential since they can provide adequate information in case of a controversial issue that might need to be addressed. This indicates that the files should be clear enough to provide relevant information when need be. The stakeholders should deploy adequate information to ensure that the records are protected from the perpetrators who might tamper with sensitive information (Turel et al., 2017).
DGI levels help in making the information governance efficient to meet the demand of the people (Norta, 2015). Data security is a component of the information governance that ensures that all the relevant information is safeguarded for future use. The information experts do everything at their capacity to ensure that the information integrity is maintained to benefit the relevant bodies. All the levels should be harmonized to ensure that the information technology meets their long term goals.
I’m familiar with some of the information governance concepts such as data security since I keep all my essential details private to protect them from the malicious attackers. Research has shown that some people give out their personal information without minding the outcomes. Most innocent people have fallen victims of attacks without their knowledge. Regarding this, people should be well versed in information governance concepts to counter the risks that can arise due to their ignorance.
