Integrating Data Management & Analytics
This article addresses the significance of data management and analytics integration in improving decision-making processes within financial institutions. Data-management processes focus on various activities such as; data sourcing, cross-referencing, and leveling potential discrepancies via data cleansing and reconciliation procedures. On the other hand, data analytics techniques have been undertaken in diverse desk-level libraries and tools. The two processes have instigated myriad complexities for financial entities since it impacts the time to intuition and action, eventually jeopardizing their decision-making processes. Today, most financial firms have transitioned to a more integrated approach to data management and analytics due to a shift in cloud technologies. The advent of reputable technological tools like Apache Spark facilitates the integration of data and analytics (Groot, 2020). Increased integration of data analytics and management has been noticed in recent years, supporting user workflows mainly in the banking industry. This integration has promoted regulatory reporting, a crucial discipline for financial entities in the US.
Furthermore, the combination of data and analytics play a vital role in enhancing decision-making processes within this sector. At the same time, it empowers financial organizations to acquire new capabilities needed to drive better and informed decision-making. This approach aids financial entities to gain access to multiple data types and sources ranging from; reference, pricing, social, environmental, and corporate governance data. The combination of data and analytics is a significant technological milestone in the industry that promotes business agility and cost optimization. This approach supports greater agility via data by helping financial corporations to focus only on the elements required to propel their business objectives onward (Groot, 2020). Data and analytics integration support efficient data centralization, eventually eradicating data duplication in information systems within financial institutions. Today, joint forces to combine data analytics and management are underway to create new platforms for financial entities to maximize the value they gain from data.
