This is the baseline of the territorial waters of a country that faces the land except in states considered archipelagic. Internal waters exist without territorial seas and exist without internal waters.
Baseline
This is the coastline, which is seaward of the territorial sea of the country and certain of other maritime zones and may be measured by the country’s exclusive economic zone (Pitts, 2018).
Contiguous zone
This is a water band from the outer edge of sea territorial and 24 nautical miles from the baseline
Continental shelf
This is seabed and a large landmass that is relatively shallow when compared to other parts
Exclusive economic zone
Is an area within the coastline and seabed which is a distance from the coastline of the country but the country which that part falls within has exclusive drilling and fishing rights and other economic activities (Pitts, 2018)
High seas
This is an open part to the sea or ocean and outside territorial waters
The common heritage of human-kind
This is an international law principle that defines and holds territorial areas and elements of the common heritage of humanity.
Right of innocent passage
This is an international law that allows for safe passage of vessels through the territorial waters of another country.
Question 5
Explain the conditions of lawful self-defense to terrorism
Self-defense is educating the members of the public of some of the various strategies and steps that they need to take to shelf themselves when there is a terrorist attack.
Explain whether the Operation Enduring Freedom qualifies as lawful self-defense or not
According to my understanding of international law, it qualifies because when life is threatened, one has the authority to defend themselves against the threat to life.
