Jaw-Dropping Moment
Every presenter has a fear of making a presentation and not appealing to the audience and engaging an audience from the beginning of the performance until the end is an art that should be mastered. I believe that the performance has to be memorable and appealing to the audience. A great presenter should break the barrier between him or her and the audience. I would like to talk about ‘Social Entrepreneurship’ and everything it entails. By taking down the wall, I know there is a rapport between the audience and I. Hence it would be easy for me to connect and engage the audience from the beginning to the end of the social entrepreneurship presentation. Starting with a memorable headline and concluding on a high note, my address should interest the audience.
A great presenter should entice the audience with a great start. He or she should start the presentation with a memorable headline. Opening the conversation with a statement that captures the audience’s attention, I am bound to retain the audience’s concentration (Maguire Training). I should craft a subtle message that captures the main statement. Some presenters opt to start the presentation with a repeatable quote (Post Haven). I intend to do the same thing because by doing so, the audience breaks the walls and accord me the attention I deserve.
A deserving end should accompany a memorable headline. I understand that I should end the presentation with something that captures the audience’s mind, something that they may share with the next person whenever my name comes up (Post Haven). For instance, some presenters choose to conclude the presentation with a personal story relating to the performance’s contents. Others want to use the quotation technique (Sparkol). There is a myriad of presenters who have come up with quotes that have been adopted by the masses. By using one of these quotes, I am bound to deliver a memorable presentation. Performance may be an uphill task; however, incorporating these pointers will capture the audience’s attention.
