language can shape different things in life
Response A
I agree that language can shape different things in life, such as time, punishment, gender, and quantity of a product, among others. I consider the use of Aboriginal society as a perfect example of how language can shape how people think. More significantly, I agree that the Ted Talk targeted college students as the audience. In college, students from different languages converge to do similar research. In that regard, having a different language in the same context increases the quality of ideas presented by each student. Therefore, the possibility of coming up with conclusive research among college students is high. I also agree that the speaker effectively used ethos in the presentation to attract the audience where part of the presentation was based on her personal experience. Overall, a agree that learning different languages is important such that people who speak many languages get better opportunities than those who focus on a single language.
Response B
I agree that some languages pronounce some words in the same way but the meaning is completely different. In that regard, education shape the way we think because everything we perceive can only materialize if we speak it out. However, I disagree that language does not shape the way we think. Mainly, we cannot come up with a concrete argument if we do not understand a language. It is different to respond on an issue yet you do not understand the language. Therefore, a person may not think decisively if there is a language barrier. I agree with the issue that the speaker successfully managed to grab the attention of her audience. I also agree that the use of the Aboriginal community is the presentation is the biggest takeaway in the Ted Talk because the community provides a perfect example of how language shapes the way we think. Therefore, I agree that expanding our languages is essential and will help us understand different ideas.
