Leadership and Management are the foundation of any organization in promoting organizational commitment, improving individual and teamwork productivity, workers’ job satisfaction, which results in organizational success. Reengineering is the radical redesigning of an institution’s organization, processes as well as culture. Nurse Managers and nurse leaders set fourth main goals and objectives of reengineering that address patients’ interests as well as working together and jointly with other medical staff in improving the quality of healthcare in service delivery (“In focus: Reengineering health care,” n.d). Nursing management and leadership have the responsibility of being the role model to other nurses in terms of championing patients’ interests and presenting timely information when needed, among different vital roles. Also, nurse managers contribute by promoting motivation and output in healthcare facilities. They establish productivity ideals that entail influence as well as authority power.
Therefore, in a healthcare facility, nurse managers and leaders practice less authority and more influence aimed at achieving the target outcome in healthcare. To ensure the success of reengineering the healthcare provision, nurse managers and leaders use persuasion, motivation, negotiation skills and always show appreciation to others. Besides, they adopt approaches that develop links with other health workers to reengineer the healthcare facilities. Also, nurse leaders and managers delegate duties and inspire nurses to attain quality healthcare. Leaders reshape healthcare by creating strategies that best utilize nurses within and outside healthcare facilities. A proactive nurse manager and leader bring new changes that empower, advocate for, and support nursing innovation necessary to positively affect healthcare change ( Bresnen et al., 2017). Further, to attain improved quality healthcare systems, influential nurse leaders and managers are essential and critical decision-makers.
