Dear Senator Elizabeth Warren,
RE: HAZARD PAY FOR FRONTLINE EMPLOYEES
As a lobbyist and a constituent, I write to urge you to support compensation for the frontline employees during this Covid-19 pandemic. At this time, most people have locked themselves in their houses in fare of contact the illness. However, there are some who have risked their lives to help combat this pandemic. Some of these brave men and women include; healthcare personals, security workers, government employees, service employees, police, military, among others.
I cannot emphasize enough the sacrifice that these health officers and other frontlines have done to put to a stop the spread of this deadly virus. To this date, more than 165,900 people have died due to covid-19 worldwide. In addition to that, there are close to 2.5 million confirmed cases, with only about 633,000 individuals who have recovered.
According to the Republic Act 7305, when there is an emergency or calamity, healthcare officials in the public sector have to be offered hazard pay. I, therefore, urge you to support the compensation of these frontline employees.
Thank you for the consideration
Sincerely,
